The reason is that when water reaches 100 °C, it reaches the boiling point, which means water will become steam as well, making it unsafe since it is prone to scalding. When steam is formed in the piping, the water flow becomes unstable and may lead to splash-back when dispensing. Therefore, 87°C is a much safer setting!

There is no need to turn off the electricity if you prefer not to! Sterra Water Purifier will go into standby mode when not in use. The electricity consumed during this mode is insignificant, at around $0.8/month.

Sterra Water Purifier is a smart device designed to be energy-friendly. It will go into standby mode when not in use. The electricity consumed during this mode is insignificant, at around $0.8/month. 

The power needed for the hot water function is actually less than the power used to boil water with a kettle. The power required for using the chilled water function is equivalent to when you are using a ceiling fan. 

Here are sample figures: 

Heating: 2600 Watt - equivalent to a steam iron, electric stove

Cooling: 0.3 Ampere or 70 Watt, or equivalent to a ceiling fan

The filter bottles are made of polypropylene that is completely safe for water filtration.

There are 3 possible reasons for your filter indicator lighting up: (1.) Time (2.) Volume of water filtered (3.) Filter Clogging:

1. If the volume selection - 120ml LED is lit, the cause for your filter indicator lighting being turned on is "Time" (i.e. you have been using your filter bottles for either 4 months or 8 months).
2. If the volume selection - 250ml LED is lit, the cause for your filter indicator lighting being turned on is "Volume" (i.e. you have filtered either 1200L or 2400L of water.)
   You may change the corresponding filter bottle in these 2 above scenarios or monitor till the filter indicator is blinking (100%) before changing.
3. If the volume selection - 550ml LED is lit, the cause for your filter indicator lighting is potentially a water flow issue or clogged filters. Please consult us in this situation.

Note: After the LEDs are on for 3 seconds, the purifier will return to standby mode.

You can find out which of the 3 causes it is when the filter capacity reaches 90%. Press and hold the "Filter" and "Volume" buttons simultaneously.

The Sterra Water Purifier is one of the very few water purifiers that is designed to be extremely self-maintaining. There is no need for you to maintain it in any way, except to change the filters, which is super easy.

Sterra Water Purifiers are built to last. However, in the unlikely event that the water purifier breaks down after a year, we will handle all repairs at a cost that is usually around  $100-$300. The exact figure is dependent on the part that has to be replaced.

Yes, we do offer 1-year warranty for the product.  For the touch panel and leakage, we provide 3-year warranty. Under our current promotion, simply do a photo review of the product and we will upgrade the 3-year warranty for touch panel and leakage to a lifetime warranty!

You can sterilise the nozzle at least once a week. 

Nozzle sterilisation works by pushing the nozzle in. The UV light will then start blinking to indicate that the UV sterilising process is ongoing. The UV light will stop blinking after 30 minutes and become a steady light, indicating that the sterilisation is complete.
